What are the most effective channels for influencer marketing?

Social media marketing was recently hailed as ‘fantastically powerful’ at an E2Exchange event, where leading entrepreneurs gather to look at scaling up their businesses. Whilst social media may be prevalent with scale ups and entrepreneurs, traditional firms have been slow to adopt this marketing technique. At Skyrocket, we often here businesses say, ‘we don’t need social media’, or ‘social media isn’t for us’… but is this really the case, or should these businesses be looking to the future?

Traditional firms often live off repeat business because of their high quality of work. We encourage these firms to showcase their work online, and social media can be a fantastic way of interacting with their prospects who will be able to see their knowledge and get a feel for the quality.

This can be a cost-effective method of marketing. It allows you to be highly targeted; rather than a blanket ad on a billboard or in a newspaper, you can be very specific about who you are engaging with and who sees your content.

We believe more traditional firms, particularly in the engineering, manufacturing and technical industries could better utilise social media to showcase their businesses. There are some key benefits to this:

Become discoverable

A key benefit of social media marketing is that it makes organisations more visible by increasing exposure. Establishing a social media presence on the right platforms makes your organisation more accessible to customers and opens new means of communicating with them.

Increase your sales prospects

Your suppliers and customers are migrating towards social media, which means so are your potential clients -and competitors. The rise of professional networks such as LinkedIn have made it easier to identify and connect with key decision makers in different businesses, allowing you to build relationships quickly and secure new business. Some of our clients have seen a return on investment from as little as one week of managing their social media strategy.

Showcase your brand

Customers will relate to your business better if you have a strong brand, and there is no better way to reinforce this than through platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Your brand is your business’ personality, and it allows customers to relate to you and the people that make your services happen. This paves the way to customer loyalty and positive brand reinforcement.
